Linoleum Blocks are printmaking blocks with an easy-to-carve linoleum surface mounted on wooden blocks. The linoleum comes with a tinted coating to allow easy drawing and cutting while producing sharp, crisp edges once cut. Speedball makes a great lino-cutter set that comes with an assortment of blades to achieve different lines. The blocks are made of a flexible, durable material that will not dry out or crack.
Images can easily be transferred to the linoleum surface by taking a laser print or a photo copy of the image, placing it face down on the block and using a blender marker such as the AD Blender Marker on the back of the print to transfer the image.
Small linoleum blocks can be used as stamps and are easy to print with rubber stamp pads and block printing ink.
