Although this paper is not made of silk it does have somewhat of "silky" feeling. This off white, neutral pH tissue is machine made from 100% gampi (one of the strongest plant fibers). Because of its strength and translucency it is an excellent overlay and interleaving sheet for art prints, perfect for mending fine art prints that are torn or have worn surfaces, and great conservation box lining for archival storage of valuable artifacts.
Lastly, odd as it may seem, this same paper is used in the optical industry as an eyeglass cleanser (it will not scratch or damage lenses).
