Hahnemühle Copperplate Paper has a soft handle with amazing absorption qualities and less need for soaking in preparation for printing. Mold made in Germany from 100% high-alpha cellulose, it has medium textured surface, 4 natural deckled edges, no surface sizing at all and very little internal sizing.
No need for soaking overnight; misting or dampening with wet blotters will suffice. Even though the paper's composition is high alpha cellulose (wood fiber) and not cotton, it does not take away from its ability to take deep embossing without cracking around the plate edge and still dry flat after printing. The paper has great dimensional stability—wonderful for multi-color print runs!
Copperplate is an ideal choice for all printmaking techniques especially etching & embossing, and it is suitable for all drawing applications: pencil, charcoal and pastel. 300gsm, neutral pH and chlorine-free.
