Live Painting with Alicia Guckenheimer-Harrell
Date of event: March 12, 2011
Art with Purpose
Alicia Guckenheimer-Harrell is a native Californian. She has been formally trained in Advertising/Marketing with a minor in Art. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Chico, California. Her formal education has taken her many places, but it is her love of all animals that has inspired to do the work she does now. Creating her business, Pet Portraits, has allowed her to work in the medium she loves, gouache (vivid pigmented watercolor) and the subjects she adores, dogs and cats. From these many commissioned portraits, she soon began showing her artwork in local gift shops and pet stores. Eventually, she was approached to license many of her images to gift and card companies. Currently, she is finishing up the artwork for her own giftware company, Utopia. Also, in the works is a book she has created for children to understand the passing of their loyal pet family members. Alicia always states, “Animals are our angels on earth.”
