Live Art with Courtney Cerruti

Date of event: March 16, 2013, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
When you see inspiration in everything, as does Courtney Cerruti, the overlooked and mundane become whimsical and magical art. Maker extraordinaire, Courtney may turn a discarded candy wrapper into a paper flower petal, or use old books and toilet paper tubes to create a menagerie of animals that come to life from the repurposed paper. She makes something everyday and works in many mediums.
Courtney studied painting at UC Santa Cruz and the University of Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France. She has taught workshops throughout the Bay Area and abroad, beginning with many book making parties while in France. Believing that everyone is creative, Courtney teaches from a place of passion and authenticity. She offers classes at:
San Francisco Center for the Book, an amazing organization that offers 300 workshops a year. We recommend them on our Resources page for Art Classes.
Creativebug, a new San Francisco company with a growing library of online workshops to expand your creative horizons. Courtney is the instructor behind many of their videos, on a variety of topics.
Courtney also works as a freelance artist specializing in visual display like set design and window styling. Please visit her website to view more of her work and exceptional artistic flair. We look forward to having Courtney as our featured Live Artist as she works on her mixed media books. Come get inspired!
