Born and raised in Ireland, Annie Galvin moved to San Francisco in 1989, two weeks before the earthquake. Feeling quite at home in San Francisco, Annie loves the tidy size of the City, having the ocean at her doorstep, the diverse neighborhoods, and of course, the amazing creative people she meets here.

Her paintings and collage are inspired by California, overheard conversations, comic books, textile patterns, very short stories, gardens, and her own endless daydreams. A constant doodler and avid reader, Annie also has an addiction to beautiful art and a collection design books. It all feeds her inspiration to create paintings and drawings of people – always women and animals – often bears and foxes.

Annie and her printmaker husband, Eric Rewitzer, started 3 Fish Studios in 2007. First located in the Dogpatch neighborhood and now in the Outer Sunset, the studio is a lovely light-filled space where they can make and show their artwork together. They are strong believers in a collaborative process of creating and sharing art, and they love to be surrounded by the vibrancy of creative people sharing ideas.

Annie and Eric participate in Open Studios and offer classes at their studio.
