Stumps are used by artists' to smudge or blend marks made with charcoal, crayon, pencil or other drawing media. With a stump you can produce gradations and half tones. Each is a double-ended cylindrical drawing tool made of soft paper that is tightly wound into a stick and easily shaped with a sandpaper pad.
