This is an eco-friendly, hardcover journal made with 100% recycled binder board and acid-free, 120gsm sustainable forest paper. It features Smyth sewn binding, an accordion-style memento pouch that stores your loose papers, a satin ribbon marker, and an elastic band closure. The back endpaper contains information about the fascinating historical background for the original artwork.
Originally crafted from morocco leather with intricate filigree and golden pointellé, the binding reproduced here has been in the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France since the Second Empire (1865–1870). It was designed by an unknown Parisian atelier to hold the Pars Hiemalis section of the Parisian Brevarium.
