Nataliya Tyaglo was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she began to study plein air painting on the shores of the Dnipper River. In 1994 she immigrated to the United States where she attended School of the Arts in San Francisco and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2007. Today she is gaining recognition as a Ukrainian-American painter and a Live Painting performer. Much of her work is about the celebration of life.
Trained to paint in plein air, Nataliya Tyaglo has a remarkable ability to paint quickly and dynamically. In most of her work she strives to grasp a glimpse of life in the moment it happens. From a dance of reflecting traffic lights on the Bay Bridge to capturing the energy of a local hip hop performance, her recent work is focused on capturing the rhythm of urban life.
Her first solo art show was exhibited in the heart of North Beach in San Francisco at Café Roma. Her work has also been sold internationally and exhibited across the nation, including the De Young Museum, the House of Representatives in Washington, the San Francisco World Trade Center, Live Worms Gallery. Currently Nataliya Tyaglo resides in San Francisco, performs Live Painting at various venues, participates in street chalk Arte di Gesso competitions, and Plein Air Marathons.
