Live Art with Megan Leppla
Date of event: June 30, 2012, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Megan Leppla is an art maker and educator currently based in San Francisco. Her interest in art began with photography and has since grown to encompass two-dimensional art more broadly. Fascinated by the camera’s ability to record, it has inspired Megan to create art that illustrates imagined memories. Megan spent six months as an artist in residence in rural South Carolina, and is working on a body of work that documents her transition from the rural south to the urban west.
She graduated with a BA from the University of South Florida’s College of the Arts, and spent time studying abroad in Paris, France. Among other educational activities, Megan works at the Children’s Creativity Museum in art curriculum design and instruction.
“I love making art. By sharing my passion for art making I hope to inspire and foster creativity among youth in a way that empowers them to accomplish great things.”
~ Megan Leppla
