Dawood is a contemporary artist known for his superlative draftsmanship. His contour drawings share realism and aspects of abstraction, while capturing stunning likenesses with consummate honesty.

He shares his passion for art through teaching drawing, painting and other visual art to youths and adults. Dawood has taught up and down the coast of California including at UC Berkeley, Los Angeles Academy of Fine Arts and East Oakland School. And since he is also a teacher at Sharon Art Studio, he is one of the featured artists in our August Exhibit. Dawood’s work spans a wide range of subject matter. With a background in conceptual design, he is inspired by life and doesn’t limit himself to any particular genre.
