Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks have been a favorite among illustrators, designers, calligraphers and artists since their introduction in the 1890’s. These inks are formulated with a superior shellac solution and can be applied with a brush or dip pen on a number of surfaces from paper and board to certain acetates. The ink is dye-based, fast-drying, water-resistant and transparent.
All colors are intermixable and can also be easily diluted with water to reduce the strength of the color or to increase its transparency. The Black Indian is also pigmented, meaning it is lightfast.
