Straight out of the tube, Liquid Charcoal is as thick as oil paint and a deep, rich black. But it's really a watercolor, with gum arabic as the binder and charcoal as the pigment. Dilute with water to adjust the values to a very light grey, use to create washes, and enjoy the versatility of painting with charcoal! It dries very fast.
