Matte Gel Medium has the same body and viscosity of heavy body acrylics and when mixed with color, it reduces shine, thickens, and extends open time. Adding volume, this medium can be used to create striking impasto effects.
It dries clear to translucent depending on the thickness of application, thus is good as a transparent ground for acrylic paint instead of gesso to allow the painting surface to be seen. It also makes an excellent matte adhesive for collage and other materials.
Bio-Based mediums use 50% renewable ingredients like corn, soy, sugarcane and algae instead of pertroleum.
