Abaca, a special kind of “paper”

Abaca Floor Lamp

Floor Lamp with Abaca Shade

We’ve expanded our color selection of abaca papers and have added natural/black, natural/pink, teal/gold and pink/dark red.

The 24″x36″ sheets are semi-sheer, which makes them great for overlays. The abaca sheets are also malleable, ready to be formed for sculpture, decorations and much more.

With abaca paper you can make a variety of things from gift bags to jewelery, or even desk accessories. Instead of going out and buying a mass produced lamp you can stop by our store and we’ll have just what you need to make your own unique abaca lamp shade.

Originally used for rope, fibers extracted from the abaca plant’s trunk are now elaborately woven by hand to create one-of-a-kind paper sheets in the Philippines.

Choose just the right color and easily cut to size.  Having a dinner party? Abaca makes a beautiful placemat. As with the thousands of other paper options in our paper room, a little imagination opens a world of possibilities!
