Paint Kits come in two grades: BASIC and PRO. Basic kits provide a unique experience for novice and one-time painters, while Pro kits are suited for individuals looking to expand their practice with the highest quality pigments. You will also be provided with an easel along with an apron and viewfinder. The Paint Kits are yours to keep and the easels and aprons must be returned to FLAX after the workshop. Workshops, including materials and easel rentals, range from $67.50 - $119.00 (plus registration fees).
STUDENT KIT MATERIALS
PAINT
Each STUDENT KIT contains 6 carefully selected heavy body paints from Amsterdam Acrylics’ wide spectrum of colors. These paints are high quality with excellent color intensity. The thick, non-fading pigment paints can be easily thinned with water and will remain flexible and extremely durable. Consistent and versatile, they can be used on a wide range of surfaces, including paper, board, canvas, wood and stone.
Colors provided in this kit are: Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Dark, Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green, Bone Black and Zinc White
PALETTE
The paints for the STUDENT KIT come in a re-usable sealed cup palette, perfect for the studio, classroom and of course, plein air painting.
The interchangeable sealed cups help keep paint as fresh. Each palette has four slanted wells, five brush rests and twelve air-tight sealed removable cups. The concave bottom of the cups provide easy cleanup. It is compact, light-weight and portable, perfect for mixing colors (or keeping them separate).
BRUSHES
A carefully selected assortment of 4 Black Silver long handle brushes come with the STUDENT KIT. These brushes contain multi-diameter blended synthetic that is durable in performance and elegant in appearance. The silver blended synthetic, black ferrules, and two-toned black and silver handles offer the artisan an appealing brush that will maintain chisel and point while holding pigment of any medium with its sizable reservoir.

CANVAS PANEL
Canvas panels are an economical and easily portable alternative to stretched canvas. They are perfect for lighter paint applications and quick studies. The canvas panels in the STUDENT KITS are made from unbleached 3 oz. cotton, primed with acid-free acrylic titanium gesso to a finished weight of 8 oz. and wrapped around an acid-free recycled paper board core.

PRO KIT MATERIALS
PAINT
The PRO KIT comes with seven of our best selling acrylic paints. Golden's Heavy Body Acrylics are formulated to a remarkably smooth, thick and creamy consistency that offers beautiful coverage and vivid pigmented colors. These high-quality paints contain no dyes, toners, extenders or fillers. They are reliably lightfast with excellent permanency.
Paints provided in this kit come in 60ml tubes in the following colors: Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Dark, Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green, Bone Black, and Titanium White.

STUDIO CANVAS
The PRO KIT comes with an all-purpose Classic Cotton Stretched Canvas. It is suitable for use with all acrylic paints, oil paints and other wet or dry media. The unbleached 5 oz. cotton duck is primed with acid-free acrylic titanium gesso to a finished weight of 10 oz. and stretched around and back-stapled to kiln-dried solid pine stretcher bars.

An important tool in plein air painting, a 12" wooden ruler comes with each PRO KIT.
10 Well Plastic Palette
This simple yet handy 10-well palette is made of extremely durable plastic that is easy to clean and store. The palette’s surface is suitable for use with all painting media from watercolor to oil color.
Included in the cost of the workshops is the rental of one of our rolling plein air easels.
ROLLING RIVERA EASEL
The Rolling Rivera French Sketchbox Easel is constructed of beautiful hand-oiled Elmwood. The easel folds compactly and features a castor base for easy mobility.
MARTIN MOBILE BENCH EASEL
Constructed of beautifully finished, natural hardwood, the Martin Mobile Bench Easel easily transports to plein air sites and then conveniently folds out into a Cabalitto-style artist bench seat with an angled canvas support.
