This traditional interleaving material is translucent, acid-free, and unbuffered. The surface is very smooth and has a pH of 7.0. Glassine’s light weight makes it easy to fold yet it maintains its shape well.
Glassine can be used for a variety of applications including book binding, particularly when constructing a traditional photo album, and art conservation. Place sheets between watercolor and charcoal drawings to preserve the surface while storing or transporting. Glassine is not recommended for long-term photographic storage.
