A second FLAX store is now open! We couldn’t be more pleased to report that San Mateo is the home of a new store, run by Ron Ansley. Ron was just 26 when Philip Flax hired him (shh, almost 30 years ago). For most of that time Ron was the manager of our SF store, where he created countless personal relationships with our customers. His knowledge of materials is extensive, and I’m not sure who gets more satisfaction, Ron from the sharing of the uses and applications of different supplies, or the customer who just learned from the master. (Ron’s master was Stan, who just celebrated his 40th anniversary at FLAX!)

FLAX art & design – San Mateo opened July 18, 2014. Ron has become a part of the Flax family and we are excited to continue working with him, so that Ron can pursue his dream of having his own shop while bringing to the Bay Area peninsula a well respected brand that he helped build.
