We welcome Olivia Chen, a member of CLIQUE and a participating artist in our current Collective Collaborations exhibit, as a Live Artist.

Olivia was born in Taiwan, moved to Toronto, Canada at fourteen and now lives in Berkeley. An artist who works in many mediums, she received her first BFA in Architecture from Ryerson University and her 2nd BFA in Fine Art Painting from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Olivia has been in group shows with Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, STUDIO Gallery in San Francisco and Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay. She will be featured in North Light Book’s competition Strokes of Genius 5 : Best of Drawing / Composition, 2013. Olivia is currently teaching art classes to children. Please visit Olivia’s website.

CLIQUE is a diverse group of emerging female artists based in San Francisco, California. These women challenge themselves to present unique themed shows often in ways that a traditional gallery wouldn’t.

The group of women met while attending the Academy of Art in San Francisco. After graduation they banded together to form CLIQUE, where they benefit from each other’s knowledge, skills and support. Each member works in a different aesthetic, genre or concept offering a unique point of view, however for their show at Flax, they each participated on a few pieces . The intention of CLIQUE is to elevate women in the arts, present unique experiences for the viewer, and to engage the community. We are proud to showcase these talented artists in a collaborative show.
