Contest:
Artists of all levels are welcome to enter. Artwork must be original and any medium is welcome. As you can see from previous winning entries shown below, the work has included paper crafts to photography to watercolor and mixed media.
Winners receive a $250 FLAX gift card, and we keep a permanent archive of winning art in our Facebook cover photo album.
Open Entries:
There is no deadline for entries. Submit any time.
Design Requirements and Guidelines:
Artwork must measure 851 x 315 pixels (8.85″ wide x 3.28″ high) and our original “F” logo must be incorporated in the design. The Flax “F” has a special history and you can see past examples of submitted entries to our catalog cover contest below.
Send us your art digitally by email. Original works of art may be mailed to the address below, though we suggest you scan it and submit to us digitally since contest entries will not be returned. As part of our digital printing service, bring your artwork not larger than 11″x17″ into the store and we will provide complimentary scanning for this contest.

Our History of Showing Your Artwork:
The artwork that graced our FLAX art & design catalogs for over 20 years (1984 – 2007) was creative and intriguing. Our call to artists enlisted work from art students, major advertising firms, freelance artists and casual art enthusiasts. In fact, our catalog cover contests were often prepared as a class assignment. Take a peek at some of our favorites over the years.
