Make Art Everywhere!
What would it be like to make art accessible to everyone and at every street corner?
“The time has come to give everyone in our community an opportunity to know and experience creativity as our most powerful human capacity.” – William Cleveland

Lisa and Lauren
Art is Moving is a collaboration between artists Lisa Rasmussen and Lauren Odell Usher who are creating a movement through art making, blogging, community outreach and conversations about ART!
Lisa and Lauren believe that art is for everyone. “Our organization exists in order to push that belief as well as constantly question art, the artists role in our society, and the art world. We also believe that art should be FREE – free to make, free to see, and free to talk about. Because we believe that art is a fundamental part of a healthy society we will work in order to deliver it to every corner of the world.”

Art Break Day in Action
Lisa and Lauren took their message to the streets around the Bay Area and created Art Break Day. Kick off cities included San Francisco, San Rafael, Berkeley, Oakland and Richmond. Visualize walking into the center of a city and seeing a group of random strangers sitting around a table chatting, laughing, sharing, and getting to know one another through the act of making art together.

Art Break 2011
This exhibit is an example of how the conversation began. Sample art work created by strangers bringing communities together. We invite you to enjoy the exhibit and take a few minutes at our table to create your own artwork.
